Back home

We made it home safely. Each time we go "home" to visit, we think about moving back... but then something happens that makes us remember why we moved. lol

We had lots of family dinners. That is one thing I miss. More people than chairs, all crammed around a big table, passing food and sharing stories.

Marty and the boys helped my brother build a swing set for the girls. It took a few trips to Home Depot, but they now have three swings and a cargo net to climb.

While my brother was working on the swing set Marty and I tossed Syd and Shel into the van and headed to McDonalds for ice cream. They wore more of it than they ate, but what are an aunt and uncle for?

There was a bunch of just sitting around and being goofy, plenty of park days (which are on my brothers camera), feeding ducks, and even a picnic.

We went to Marty's dads for a big family dinner with Marty's brother Mike and his wife Stephanie. Marty's dad is a Chef also, so I don't have to tell you how good it was.

Before leaving we picked my grandma up and went to her Church for their monthly Spaghetti Dinner.

Sure, the spaghetti is good, but you can't beat the cake!

After dinner we played on the hill (just like my brother and I used to do as kids) and then headed home.

My grandpas funeral was nice. The Masons did a ceremony at the beginning, the American Legion presented my grandma with a flag, and the minister did a good job, considering that he didn't know my grandpa well. (They have attended that church since 1957, but since moving to a nursing home, have attended the service they offer.)
